The theme of the Sacred Rose Tarot is the rose as a "symbol of Western consciousness, similar to the lotus in the East."  The artist/psychic Johanna Sherman, captures the essence of ancient symbols and meanings in her art renderings of each card. She was inspired by Byzantine icons and medieval stained glass windows with their bright colors, detail and symbolic images. As you go through the deck, you can feel the magic explode from each card as it elevates you to a higher awareness. The back of the cards are five roses: red, white, blue, gold  and starry purple.. symbolizing the the four elements and Spirit.
