Secret Tarot
by Marco Nizzoli

The Secret Tarots, originally published in 1997 by LoScarebo and re-released in 2001 as the Secret Tarot, changed its box cover to the 9 of Pentacles rather than the earlier which used the High Priestess as the cover and the original deck's cards were a bit smaller. The new release has taken the deck out of the "underground" collector's realm and planted it clearly mainstream, so it's literally available everywhere. However, it was one of  my favorties from the first time I bought it in 1997 and the minor "marketing" changes have not changed any of Marco Nizzoli's beautiful artwork nor the special story this deck was designed to tell. Based on a mythical place called "Secret Land", the deck weaves through enchanted gardens and magical lands.  The small instructions folder that accompanies this fantastic deck, also explains the tales of the Major Arcana as well as each the four suits which hold a story line of  four different kingdoms: the Kingdoms of Pleasure (Chalices ), Richness (Pentacles), Sorrow (Swords) and Human Work (Wands).

The importance of this deck is quite profound. In Jungian teachings, we learn the importance of the symbology and storytelling of "Fairytales".
They were (and are) a valid method of conveying or unearthing deeper, hidden motives and emotions in the human psyche. This deck is one of the most effective use of that concept. Collectors and readers alike will apprecaite this deck.
