The Vision Tarot
By Tim Thompson

The Vision Tarot heralds the Renaissance, yet they are actually photographs by Tim Thompson based on the traditional images of the Marseilles Tarot. Each of the 78 cards has been reproduced as a detailed full color photograph, with people clothed in period garb of the Renaissance along with scenery, objects and symbols, befitting the traditional tarot representation.

Tim uses old coins for the coins/pentacles, chalices for the cups, various "batons" and walking canes for wands, and antique swords for the photographs, keeping the Medieval theme throughout. Yet as you look into the card, you can feel that it is done in a modern time with a modern expression. This makes a unique statement about the purpose of this deck to be a deck for the 21st Century, while preserving the spirit of the 15th Century! The original cards were done with the French word imbedded in the photograph for each card, but there is an english name for the card on the bottom border.

The Vision Tarot comes complete with a 50 page instruction booklet (in English) that explains clearly how to read the cards. It also tabulates the modern interpretation of each card and relates this to the details of the images. The booklet also goes into detail about the symbolism embodied in each card. If collecting or using for reading and/or meditation, this deck will open new vistas, possibly unseen before!
